Coeur de Chêne epitimises all that's wonderful about France. Perfect for lazy days and BBQs, chilled wine and fresh crusty bread with lashings of wonderful French butter. It's also perfect for exploring the history rich, exciting and very different departments of Loire Atlantique and its close neighbours Ile et Vilaine and Mayenne. Enjoy fascinating days out in Rennes, Vitre, Chateaubriant, Nantes, Angers and explore the vineyards of the Loire valley.
Coeur de Chêne offers a wonderfully relaxed self catering holiday home both for exploring the area and recharging your batteries.
There is a large patio area leading into the garden and it contains a bench seat, picnic table, BBQ, an ornamental well and washing line. Sun loungers are also provided. The large garden is not fully enclosed so children will need supervision. Also for this reason we do not allow dogs as there are many farms in the vicinity.
Accommodation:
The new living room has a high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, is triple aspect with patio doors opening onto the garden and with its wood burning fire makes this a cosy all year round holiday cottage. With 2 two seater sofas, TV (receives satellite free 2 view BBC channels plus some others), Video, CD player, selection of books & games, Videos and CDs, there's plenty to relax with indoors.
The kitchen/dining room are in the original part of the cottage, the kitchen is fully fitted with modern units and an electric hob, fan assisted oven, extractor fan, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, cutlery, crockery, glasses and utensils. The dining area has a large table seating six with high chair or booster seat available for children. This room also has a wood burner as well as supplimentary electric heating.
The ground floor bedroom has twin beds, set of drawers, a clothes rail and an adjoining family bathroom with washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The first floor spacious and romantic master bedroom has vaulted ceiling with exposed oak beams, wardrobes and chest of drawers, period chair to enjoy the views from and an en-suite shower room with basin and WC.
There is also a lovely small separate bedroom with views over the garden, containing a single bed and clothes storage. A baby's travel cot is also available on request.
LOCAL AREA
Chateaubriant has a beautiful château and grounds with open-air concerts and theatrical productions in the summer. There are a variety of restaurants and street cafés and in the more modern parts of the town are the "theatre de verre" (the glass theatre), a bowling alley, a cinema and the Olympic sized swimming pool overlooking tennis courts.
Activities in the area include 18 hole swin golf, croquet, archery, water-skiing, karting, paint-balling, paragliding, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and boating. It is also ideal for trekking, horse riding and wonderful for family cycling or walking.
There are beautiful lakes, rivers, markets, fetes and the famous Foire de Bere (country show) in Chateaubriant in September, amongst a number of regional music and dancing festivals during August and September.
