L’Enclos is the former estate of Count Souffron that we have completely restored. It now consists of 2 hectares enclosed by 250 year old stone walls. The courtyard is especially dramatic with the main house on one side and extensive granges opposite, all with the classic steep Perigordian roofs.

We have 6 cottages situated in various outbuildings (granges). All the buildings are over 250 years old and have been fully restored. They are decorated in a very pleasing country manner, mixing antiques with locally made reed furniture and colorful Provencal fabrics. All our cottages are rated 4 STAR by the French Government.

L'Enclos has been judged by Rivages Guides and Prima magazine as the top Bed and Breakfast in all of the Southwestern region of France and one of the top 14 in all of France.

The 5m x 10m guest swimming pool overlooks the orchard with numerous fruit and walnut trees.

We speak English, Spanish, French and Italian.

Pets welcome.

LOCAL AREA

Pragelier is a small hamlet and close by are Tourtoirac and Excideuil with shopping and restaurants.

Perigueux, the largest city in Perigord is 25 minutes.

We are less than an hour from Terrason, Sarlat, Les Eyzies, Montignac (Lascaux), Brantome, Limoges and Bergerac. St Emilion is 1 ˝ hrs and Bordeaux is 2 hrs away.

Very nearby lies the Castle of Hautefort.

Perigord is one of the most beautiful areas in France with gently rolling hills, lovely quaint villages, rivers for canoeing and the region’s architecture is stunning.

The regional food is excellent. Village restaurants are very inexpensive and there are many fine Michelin starred restaurants with all the Perigordian specialities in abundance.

Limoges - 50 mins. Brive - 45 mins.
