Based in the Poitou-Charentes region of France, Gites de Brettes is located in Brettes, a small village situated in the relaxing countryside of Charente, only 10 mins from Ruffec with its many shops & restaurants.
With over 3 acres of gardens there is plenty of space for playing games or just relaxing.
In the pool area there is a small play area for younger children and plenty of lawns and terraced areas for sunbathing.
The heated swimming pool, with a constant depth of 1.5m and surrounded by a security fence making it safer for children, has sweeping steps on 2 diagonal corners that are ideal for sitting on and cooling off during the long sunny days.
Cottage 1 – sleeps 6/7 + cot
Upstairs – 2 twin bedrooms with room for 1 z- bed and bathroom.
Downstairs – 1 double bedroom, bathroom, large lounge with log burning fire for winter lets, dining room and fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher / breakfast room.
Cottage 2 – sleeps 6/7 + cot
Upstairs – 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom with room for z- bed.
Downstairs – 1 bedroom with bunk beds, bathroom, lounge and spacious fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher / dining room.
Stables – sleeps 4/5 + cot
Upstairs – 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom with room for z-bed and a bathroom.
Downstairs – large lounge/dining room with French doors onto garden, spacious fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher.
La Forge – sleeps 2/3 + cot
Double bedroom with room for z-bed, bathroom, lounge and spacious fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher / dining room with French doors onto garden.
Each property has it’s own private patio area with gas BBQ and patio furniture. There is also a laundry room for the use of all guests. Cots and highchair available. No pets allowed. Welcome pack and bed linen provided.

Brettes is served by a traditional fresh bread delivery van, which enters the courtyard for your convenience. Villefagnan (3kms), has a chemist, small co-op supermarket, bakers and a petrol station.
Local area facilities include:
A lake at Villefagnan, with man made beach for swimming, fishing or just soaking up the sun.
Horse riding and tennis are also available nearby.
Cognac, Angoulême (40 mins) and the seaside towns of Royan (90 mins) and La Rochelle (90 mins) are all within easy reach for a day trip. Don’t forget to visit the FuturoScope science theme park, near Poitiers, fun for all the family.
