Set adjacent to the beautiful Abbaye de la Lucerne, and close to beaches, bays, estuaries and forests, La Cidrerie is a group of converted barns built in the traditional stone of the region.
It is a most tranquil and lovely place with secluded private gardens, yet only a few kilometres drive away from either the golden sandy beaches of Jullouville and Carolles, the bustling fishing port of Granville, or the lovely town of Avranches with its commanding views of Mont St Michel.
There are two cottages which are easily adaptable and fully equipped for five adults (plus baby). The cottages can be rented separately or as a one large unit. Alternatively, you may prefer to choose bed and breakfast in the newly renovated barn with its charming views across the apple orchard.
Cider Cottage and Apple Cottage each have the following accommodation:
Ground floor:
Large, comfortable sitting-room with wood-burning stove. Satellite television with DVD player and video machine
Well-equipped kitchen-diner, with gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave
Bathroom with shower and wash basin; washing machine
Separate toilet
Utility space with electric water boiler and consumer unit
First floor:
Two large bedrooms, one with king-size double bed, the other with two singles (3 singles in Apple Cottage). Both bedrooms are carpeted with wardrobe, chests of drawers and hanging space
All beds have duvets, pillows and linen - changed weekly at a cost of 10 euros per bed, per week
Both cottages enjoy a large garden and patio with garden furniture. Cider Cottage has a feature cider press with wheel and fountain and gas barbecue, and Apple Cottage has a Weber barbecue.
Cider and Apple Cottages are semi-detached, with locked, adjoining doors. They can be rented separately but are also ideal for occupation as a large, single unit.
Orchard Cottage is the old renovated cider barn, and is occupied by the owners of Cider and Apple Cottages. It has two bedrooms, one of which is available on a bed and breakfast (Chambre d'Hôtes) basis.

LOCAL AREA
La Cidrerie is situated half way between the villages of St Pierre Langers and La Lucerne d'Outremer. It is 1km away from the beautiful Abbaye de la Lucerne. The bigger village of Sartilly is 3km away, with its boulangeries and small shops.
St Pierre Langers is situated between the lively port of Granville, with its seafood restaurants and shops, and Avranches, sited on a hilltop with lovely views of Mont St Michel.
The superb beaches of Jullouville, St Pair Sur Mer and St Jean le Thomas are within 8km of La Cidrerie, and there are many invigorating walks in the forest of La Lucerne nearby.
The Normany landing beaches are within an hour's drive, whilst the tapestry at Bayeux is not to be missed.
Villedieu les Poêles is the place to go for copper houseware; it also has a bell foundry and large, lively market on Tuesdays.
Mont St Michel is only 30 minutes away by car and is simply awe-inspiring. Go in the evening to see the town magically lit-up - its also less crowded!
