Enjoy the peace of ‘Le Four Rouge’, situated on the edge of a quiet farming hamlet, surrounded by the French countryside.

We have three gites and two holiday cottages, sleeping from two to six people.  We are 5 kilometres to the east of the market town of Chateaubriant, in the Loire-Atlantique.

There is plenty of space for play or relaxation with a ‘figure-of-eight’ shape pool, well-equipped children’s play area, boule pitch and large grassed area for ball games.  Chairs and tables are located around the grounds, some in the sun and some under the cool shade of our large oak trees.

All accommodation provides fully equipped kitchens, tv’s, videos and hi-fi‘s.  There are plenty of games, books and videos for children and adults alike.  We have an on-site laundry.

‘The Cottage’ sleeps six and has been converted from the old cider house.  It has a double en-suite room, a twin room and a family shower room, all on the ground floor.  There is a further double bedroom area on a mezzanine level.  It is available for winter lets, with full central heating and a cosy wood-burning fire.

‘Baker’s Cottage’ sleeps two people in a cosy ‘one-up, one-down’ arrangement.  It has been converted from the old bakehouse and still has the old bread oven attached.  It has a wood-burning fire downstairs and an en-suite shower room upstairs.  It has it’s own courtyard with table, chairs and barbecue.

‘The Willows’, ‘The Limes’ and ‘The Hollies’ have been converted from the old stable block and provide accommodation for four to six people.

The Willows accommodates six people, in three bedrooms; one double, one twin and one with bunk beds.  On the ground floor is an open plan living area.  There is an outside area with table, chairs and barbecue.

The Limes accommodates four people in two bedrooms; one double and one twin.  On the ground floor is an open plan living room.  There is outside area with table, chairs and barbecue.

The Hollies accommodates five people in two bedrooms; one double and one double with an additional single bed.  On the ground floor is an open plan living room with wood-burning fire. The Hollies benefits from having it’s own semi-private garden area with table, chairs and barbecue.

LOCAL AREA

Le Four Rouge is in a quiet rural location yet just 5km from the market town of Chateaubriant with its 12th century chateau and weekly market and 2km from our local village with shop, boulangeries and bars. 

Chateaubriant provides an ideal base for touring the famous vineyards and chateaux of the Loire.  There are nearby forests and lakes with safe man-made beaches, providing swimming, watersports and cycling and walking trails.  Golf and fishing are also popular in this area.  The coastal resort of La Baule is within an hour’s drive as are many attractions for children and adults alike.
