Cottage du Capiol is a traditional stone built village house, hundreds of years old, renovated to a high standard and retaining many original features, stone walls, oak beams. Cottage du Capiol is full of character and offers comfortable accommodation spread over three floors with the lounge on the first floor enjoying views south over the village.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. You will also find a dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils.
The cottage has a television receiving English (BBC / ITV) via satellite and French channels. There is a music system, playing CDs, cassettes and radio.
The cottage comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double on the ground floor, plus en suite shower room, separate wc, 1 twin on the top floor, with en suite bathroom and wc. The property has room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided.
There are two bathrooms both en suite. A jet shower cabin on the ground floor and separate ground floor wc. A bathroom and wc on the top floor.
The cottage has its own private parking in front and stone stairs leading down to a small private patio with table and chairs, BBQ and view over the village.
LOCAL AREA
The cottage is in a quiet back street of the charming village of Cenac et St Julien, nestling into the hillside at the foot of the medieval bastide of Domme, the property is a short walk to the river Dordogne, restaurants and shops.
In the village you will find a baker and patisserie, butcher, Post Office, bank, supermarket, newsagents, pharmacy etc.; there is a market every Tuesday morning, all just around the corner from the cottage.
The river Dordogne majestically winds its way through the region crossing the Perigord Noir and passing the village of Cenac et St Julien which lies at the foot of the medieval bastide of Domme. To the west a short distance along the river you will find La Roque Gageac as equally picturesque and steeped in history as is Domme. A little further along is the famous Chateau of Beynac.
The entire area is steeped in history and pre-history, counting the world famous site of Lascaux within easy reach. From the dawn of time man has left his mark in what must surely be described as one of the most beautiful parts of France. From cave dwellings to fairy tale castles the views and scenery are breath taking.
