Campagnac Villa is approached by a small lane winding up from the valley through the woods, a few minutes drive from the market town of Villamblard.
The villa is well appointed, offering every modern convenience. There is a large open plan living area with chimney and French doors leading on to the terrace and pool.
The kitchen is fully equipped. To prepare food you will find an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. You will also find a dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils.
The villa has a wide screen television receiving English (BBC / ITV ) and French channels via satellite. There is a video (PAL system), DVD and music system, playing CDs, cassettes and radio.
The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, one on the ground floor, plus 1 twin bedroom. A cot is available on request. The property has room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.
There are two bathrooms, one jet shower on the ground floor. There are separate toilets upstairs and downstairs.
The villa has its own secluded private pool for the sole use of the guests, pool side terraces and solar shower. There is a barbecue and rear shaded terrace.
The villa is surrounded by it’s own grounds, with a wood to the rear. There is ample parking within the gated entrance and outside lighting. There is no passing traffic, the lane to the property becomes a track and footpath a little way after the villa.
LOCAL AREA
The pays de Bergerac provides a wonderful combination of gentle countryside, picturesque towns and villages, fine wine and gourmet food.
The Dordogne River can be enjoyed by walks along its banks or taking a boat trip in a traditional gabare. The renovated old town of Bergerac which has been restored to its former beauty makes a pleasurable afternoon.
There are several good and inexpensive restaurants a short drive away; local markets and 2 supermarkets in nearby Mussidan (15 minutes). Villamblard also has bank, post office, shops, doctor and chemist.
You can hire an electric boat for a river excursion in nearby Neuvic. Lac Jemaye is one of several lakes in the area offering a beach, children’s playground, nature trails, canoeing and pedaloes, picnic area, restaurant and snack bar.
There are several bastide towns and Perigueux, with its cathedral and ancient city centre is half an hour away. St. Emilion and the many vineyards of the region are a must for some very fine wines.
A little further afield are dramatic cliff top villages, troglodyte settlements, Les Eyzies and prehistoric caves, Domme, Beynac and Castlenaud.
