Les Jasmins is 20 minutes due south of Mont St Michel, ideally situated for exploring both Normandy and Brittany as well as The Loire, whether for a holiday or for house hunting.
We are in easy reach of many beautiful beaches along the northern Brittany coast and around Avranches and Granville as well as the towns of St Malo, Dinard, Dinan and Cancale. Normandy is famous for its Calvados brandy, cider and cheeses. The towns of Forgères and Villedieu les Poêles are not far away.
Accommodation:
Downstairs is a large open plan room, for living, dining and the kitchen.
There is a very comfortable seating area.
Also provided is English TV, a DVD player, a tape player and a hi-fi system, together with a good selection of DVDs, tapes, CDs and videos, books and games.
A large dining table is provided.
There is a very well appointed kitchen with an oven and hob, microwave, toaster, fridge, washing machine, ironing facilities, dishwasher and all the glasses, china and utensils, etc.
There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed, fitted wardrobe, antique pine furniture, hair-dryer plus tea and coffee making facilities.
En-suite shower room with heated towel rail and shaver socket.
Les Jasmins has its own private south facing patio garden with deckchairs.
General information
We can offer non-allergic quilt and pillows in place of the normal feather and down quilt and pillows.
The gite is fully double glazed and has electric central heating throughout.
All electricity is provided at no extra charge.
All linen is provided (except beach towels) with the luxury of a full change midweek.
The beds are made up ready - you only have to unpack!
Dinner can be provided at a reasonable cost.
You will be provided with a luxury welcome pack.
Although the gite is quite private it is attached to our main house, so we are there for any help or advice you may want about the area, places to visit, etc.
We have tried to think of everything to make the gite as comfortable as possible and that bit special.
We are sorry but no children under the age of 16. Also, no pets and no smoking please.
LOCAL AREA
Antrain (5 minutes by car) has a boulangerie, boucherie and two small supermarkets. Pontorson and St James (both 10 minutes) have major supermarkets, all the shops and a wide range of restaurants.
There are a number of excellent golf courses within an easy driving distance.
Places of interest include:
Mont St Michel, the second most popular attraction in France.
St Malo - visit the old walled town, with its fine buildings and many shops.
Concale - the place for oysters and mussels, as well as all types of sea food with a wide variety of restaurants, bars and creperies and some beautiful beaches nearby.
Near St James is an American WW2 Cemetry.
Dinan - one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Brittany.
Parc Floral, near Fougères, a collection of twelve beautiful themed gardens.
Villedieu les Poêles for Normandie crafts.
The Bayeux Tapestry.
Arromanches for the D Day landing beaches.
