Location
Rarely can such a pretty private property be found for 2/3 people, with its private pool and no neighbours. This converted and fully restored stone built barn is situated on the south facing side of the Aveyron valley. Corde sur Ciel, Villefranche and Caylus are all easily accessible, so this is an ideal place to explore the bustling markets and Bastide towns with their amazing architecture and traditional restaurants.
Property
The property has its original vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and pastel colours throughout. There is both an external and internal staircase to the first floor.
This is the perfect place for two or three people to take a relaxing holiday, whatever the time of year.
With full central heating and a wood-burning stove it is ideal for a winter's break but excels in the summer with its pool (8m x 4m, unfenced) and shaded sun terrace, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Aveyron cliffs and valley. It is ideal for enjoying a drink or a good book and watching the butterflies as they circle the adjoining meadowland, also belonging to the property.

Initial access to the property is through the front door which is at the top of the external stone staircase. Here you enter directly into the open plan kitchen area which is well equipped with a fridge, cooker and dishwasher. You will also find all the items you may need for your in-house catering which, with the wonderful fresh produce available from the local markets, is one of the delights of so many of the visitors to this area.
From the kitchen you move to the large lounge area which is comfortably furnished and with a TV for use with the video player. There is a CD player, books and some family games.
An internal staircase leads down to the bedroom area where there is a double bedroom, a small single bedroom, a bathroom with toilet and bath and a cupboard which houses the washing machine.
LOCAL AREA
Nearby are Medieval villages and Bastide towns, colourful local markets, Chateaux, Abbeys, Churches and magnificent natural sites of outstanding beauty, including the River Aveyron with its dramatic gorges.
Activities include horse riding, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, rail trips, rock climbing, wine tasting, museums, pot-holing, tennis and of course walking. Golf is available at Albi (18-hole delightful course), where there is also a water-park for children. An afternoon's excursion by canoe through the Aveyron Gorge is considered a 'must' by nearly all guests.
Within short driving distances, excursions can also be made to fascinating towns and villages including Cordes, Albi, Najac, Cahors, St Antonin Noble Val and Bruniquel. The larger towns house excellent restaurants to cater for all budgets.
