Set in 7 acres of private grounds, Domaine-de-Lavie is an elegant manoir, dating back to the 14th Century.
From the large, 14m x 8m floodlit swimming pool, which has spacious terrace with sunbeds and parasols, there are lovely views over the countryside and to the Pyrénées beyond.
From the mature orchard, guests are welcome to sample apples, pears, figs, plums and greengages.
Domaine-de-Lavie a haven for wildlife with all sorts of birds, butterflies and deer. In the gardens and grounds, you will find peaceful, shady spots to relax in. Settle down with a good book on one of the many garden benches or just while away the time with a doze in one of the hammocks slung between two trees - what could be more perfect!
The Domaine's former farm buildings have recently been converted into 4 independent holiday cottages, each with its own private terrace with garden furniture and gas barbecue.
Each is furnished and equipped to a very high standard with TV, video, DVD player and radio/CD player included; all kitchens are equipped with gas hob, an electric oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a fridge, a microwave and a toaster - in fact, you'll find everything you could possibly think of to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible.

Park Cottage (sleeps 6)
Facing south with stunning views.
Ground floor - stylish open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. The spacious sitting area has a lovely wood-burning stove (free logs!).
Twin bedroom with en suite bathroom and WC.
First floor - two double bedrooms with en suite shower rooms and WCs.

LOCAL AREA
Béarn is a wonderful area overflowing with historic sites, ancient châteaux, picturesque villages, lively markets and excellent cuisine. The fabulous towns of Biarritz, St-Jean-de-Luz, Bayonne and Pau are all within easy reach, as are several wine regions. San-Sebastián in Spain is a great day out.
There are activities galore for everyone all year. As well as tennis, horse riding and fishing, there are 15 golf courses within an hour's drive, and miles of golden sands on the nearby Atlantic coast for surfers. The magnificent Pyrénées is an hour away for skiers, bird-watchers and walkers.
