LOCAL AREA
A Place in the Vines is located an easy 5 minute walk from the centre of the historic village of Montpeyroux. Overlooked by the floodlit ruins of Le Castellas, Montpeyroux has a baker, butcher, general store, hairdresser, tabac, post office, bar and bistro.
There is a Village market on Thursday and Sunday mornings.
In addition there is a Wine Co-operative and 18 independent wine growers producing top-class wines.
Only a few minutes drive away there is the Hérault Gorge - with a small beach for swimmers, Grotte de Clamouse, and the world heritage site of St Guilhem le Desert.
Montpeyroux is located at the foot of the Massif Central in the Hérault, in a region that is rich in history, culture and magnificent scenery.
The historic and vibrant regional capital city of Montpellier, with its fine contrast of classic and ultra modern architecture, theatres and museums is an easy 35 minute drive away.
The Mediterranean Sea can be reached in only 40 minutes. Here you can find restaurants along the miles of sandy beaches and beside the Etang du Thau that specialise in freshly-caught sea food dishes.
The region is a paradise for artists (fantastic views with ever-changing colours from the patio) and ramblers (with numerous easy/hard, short/long rambles).
Comprehensive information provided on things to do, restaurants and walks.
At A Place in the Vines you can choose whether to relax on the patio, in the pool or discover one of France's best kept secrets...the beauty of the Languedoc.

The name of this holiday gite is inspired; it is set in a quiet road on the edge of the village with stunning uninterrupted views across the vines to the hills beyond. It is light and airy, comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated with all your comforts well catered for, including satellite TV, broadband and luxury bathroom. There are easy-to-use files on all the local area has to offer, although you may prefer to just relax right here; in front of the south-facing living area and bedroom, both with French doors, is the very spacious terrace with shade and sun to suit, date palm and pretty vine-clad pergola, with the large pool a few steps away. Wake up to the amazing view and you should be delighted with this most appealing place in the vines.
